About the Founder

My name is Sachi, a Japanese language teacher and former HR professional currently living in Italy.

My Background:

• Current Residence: Italy
• Experience as a Japanese Language Teacher: 11 years
• Experience in Human Resources (HR): 8 years

(I spent several years balancing both roles to deepen my expertise.)

Before becoming a full-time teacher, I worked in HR, administration and accounting in three major cities: Tokyo, London, and Frankfurt.

• In Tokyo: I worked closely with international employees, handling recruitment and resolving workplace challenges.
• In London & Frankfurt: I became an “international employee” myself. I truly understand the difficulties, as well as the joys, of working in a cross-cultural environment.

By combining my experience in HR with my expertise in Japanese education, I am dedicated to helping you navigate the world of Japanese business communication.

The Story Behind mailun-lab

I created mailun-lab because I want to help you write business Japanese e-mails more smoothly and, more importantly, to help you “express your true thoughts through words.”

Throughout my career, I have seen firsthand that effective written communication is one of the most vital keys to business success.

When you cannot see the person you are talking to, your choice of words becomes everything. Sometimes, simply writing “correct” Japanese isn’t enough to build a real connection.

Japanese business e-mails tend to be longer than those in English because they include specific phrases to show respect.

Many international professionals struggle with how to convey this respect through text alone.

To be honest, it can be challenging even for native Japanese speakers!

That is why I am here. Using my experience in both HR and language teaching, I want to lower the hurdles of business Japanese and support your professional journey.
